The constituency consists of parts of the Borough of Rugby and Districts of Stratford on Avon and Warwick.

It straddles the M40 corridor, one of the major routes between the Midlands and the South-East. There are around 60,000 electors. Kenilworth is the largest town with about one third of the electorate. The population is predominantly White British with only 1.5% from other ethnic groups. Though still a rural area, agriculture provides little employment. Many people commute to work in the major centres outside of the constituency, including Birmingham, Coventry, Banbury and Solihull. Within the constituency there are national centres of excellence, including Warwick University, Stoneleigh Park, Ryton Organic Gardens, and major motor industry facilities, including Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin at Gaydon.

In the 2019 General Election Richard Dickson was placed 2nd.

In 2022 Jenny WIlkinson was selected as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the Kenilworth & Southam Constituency. Recent news stories and tweets from Jenny are on the Kenilworth & Southam News.
