Liberal Democrats give an update on the the formation of the new Reform led County Council

At a very brief Leader's Decision Making Meeting on Friday at the County Council Cllr Rob Howard announced the new Reform UK portfolio holders heading up the principal service areas of the Council.
Residents and staff at the Council had been waiting for these details since elections took place more than four weeks ago.
There were no details announced by the Reform UK leader about the new administration's plans for change at the Council.
Furthermore the Transport and Planning portfolio holder position remains vacant. Cllr Howard said the new postholder will be announced 'subsequently'.
Responding to the announcement Cllr Jerry Roodhouse, leader of the main opposition Liberal Democrat group, said,
we're not much further forward. Residents have had to wait four weeks for this information, so it was very disappointing to get no information about Reform UK's plans for change. Given the huge problems with major highways projects, such as the A46 Bridge To Nowhere and the need to renegotiate the Council's highways maintenance contract, the absence of a Transport and Planning portfolio holder is a real failure of leadership. It's also noted that responding to climate change in Warwickshire appears to have been removed from the terms of reference of any portfolio holder, all of whom are from the north of Warwickshire. Liberal Democrats on the County Council will be holding the Executive to account as the administration moves forward.
