The Lib Dems are calling for greater transparency and accountability and to ensure that the Government's guidance on flag flying is adhered to.

Cllr Jerry Roodhouse, leader of the Lib Dems at WCC, said:

'we need to ensure organisations get a fair open and accountable way of applying for their flag to be flown. I am concerned that - as proposed - the Ukraine flag may not be flown and, as outlined in the government guidance, I want to see that the Pride flag can be flown.'

'The Chairman of the Council should state clearly why he would not fly a flag in an open letter nor follow the government guidance.'
