John Dubber is the Liberal Democrat candidate in the Kenilworth Park Hill by-election
The Liberal Democrats have announced today that local resident John Dubber is their candidate for the upcoming Kenilworth Park Hill by-election.
Raina Deo is our candidate for the next month's Leamington Clarendon By-Election at Warwick District Council
The by-election which has been brought about by the resignation of Councillor Helen Adkins (Labour), and is the second by-election in Leamington Clarendon in as many years. Councillor Adkins resigned stating bullying amongst senior councillors within the ruling Labour/Green coalition at Warwick District Council. Since her resignation a further three Labour councillors have left the party with complaints over the Labour group’s leadership.
Speaking on her selection Raina Deo, Liberal Democrat Council Candidate, said:
“Local residents deserve a champion for our community who will listen to their issues, and fight for them at the District Council. I'm going to give my all for my community to represent them and to deliver for our beautiful town.
I'm passionate about Leamington Spa and want to ensure that our town has world class parks, a bustling High Street, safe and affordable housing, and that our streets are kept clear of waste and rubbish. Through this campaign I will work tirelessly to prove to the residents of Leamington Clarendon that I am the right person to stand up for them.”
Cllr Max Langer - Clarendon Lib Demsr, who won in Leamington Clarendon at May’s County Council elections added:
“The Labour Party locally and nationally has shown themselves unable to deliver for the needs of local residents. Multiple resignations, defections and complaints flying left and right shows that the priorities of the local Labour group are not on delivering the change they promised, but instead on political jockeying and schemes.
Meanwhile our Labour Member of Parliament continues to tow the party line, supporting a government that has bungled welfare reforms, kept in place the two child benefit cap and continues to fail the people of Gaza during an overwhelming humanitarian crisis. Last year Warwick and Leamington voted for Change, that promise is ringing very hollow.”
