Last night’s ITV debate showed that both major parties have no plan to tackle the challenges that our country faces.

The country deserves better than these two leaders, especially in Kenilworth & Southam where there is a clear alternative, the Liberal Democrats.

In Kenilworth & Southam it is a two-horse race between the Lib Dems and the Conservatives.Labour have not won an election at any level here for over 20 years. And, the last time Kenilworth & Southam voted in the 2023 local elections it was so close between the Liberal Democrats on 31% and the Tories on 38%. Only a Lib Dem vote can unseat the Conservatives at this election.

Reacting to the debate, Jenny Wilkinson, Lib Dem candidate for Kenilworth & Southam said:

“Last night’s debate was so discouraging for the future of our country. The leaders of the two big parties offered only disagreement and petty squabbling, rather than a clear, positive vision for the future.

“The Conservatives want to continue on with their failed record: on the economy, on migration, on the environment and on our NHS.

“Meanwhile, Labour’s message is there just to please people. They’ve already u-turned so much in the past few years, on the environment, the economy and much more. We need representation with real conviction, not these opportunistic positions.

“At this election I’m providing a credible alternative for the people of Kenilworth & Southam. We deserve better than what they are offering. We deserve clear action to invest in local NHS services, to clean up our rivers and to build an economy that is built on strong foundations in our communities.”
